“Photography takes an instant out of time, altering life by holding it still.”
Dorothea Lange, US Photojournalist 1895 – 1965
About Crooked Images
Crooked Images exists to inspire, move and exploit the true beauty that exists inside a face, a passing moment or behind a wonderful story.
We are truly passionate about capturing real life in a natural and candid way – from beautiful family portraits, special events, to even our popular business portraits. We like to wait until your not ready, or even distracted for just a second, to capture that perfect shot.
As famous photojournalist Alfred Eisenstaedt once said, “It is more important to click with people, than to click the shutter” and we believe this wholeheartedly. We take just as much pride with the service you receive, and the comfort you feel in front of the camera, as the photos we take for you.
The Woman Behind the Camera
That would be me..! Also known as Lauren, I am a hotel service trained, turned corporate business woman, turned photographer, born and raised in Perth, Australia. I am a mother of 2 sons, an artist, a worker, and completely obsessed with capturing the perfect shot. My mixed skills and experience in impeccable service, corporate clients, children, creative arts and nearly every kind of style, personality and age that makes a person, assists me in my success as a photographer.
These days, anyone with a good phone and an Instagram account can become a photographer, it’s true. However I believe in being the best I possibly can be, so besides the fact I am qualified in Photo Imaging, I am also still pushing myself to learn more, see more, do more. In my eyes after each job I do, I take a moment to acknowledge my work, then in the next moment decide I can do even better.
One of the hardest things I was faced with during my photography studies, was deciding what kind of photographer I wanted to be. Choosing just one specific genre and committing solely to that, just doesn’t align with who I am as a person. I have always been open, willing and versatile in my skills – not to mention absolutely not limited – and I wanted a slice of every flavour! So I worked hard on every area I could, and came to the conclusion that my genre was PEOPLE. I love people, I believe in people, I am intrigued by their faces and especially the ability photographs have to tell a story about them in a single image. I can’t have a conversation with a landscape and get to know it’s personality. I can’t watch the way it moves and how it loves, like I can with a person.
My passion for photography and capturing beautiful images for my clients runs deep within my soul, and my goal for my business is to maintain my 100% success rate in customer satisfaction.
